About us:
The Sudanese Association of Northern California (SANC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization established in 2001. We proudly serve the Sudanese community across the San Francisco Bay Area, home to more than 400 families and individuals.
Our mission is rooted in three pillars:
-
Social Support – Creating a welcoming forum for Sudanese families and individuals to connect, celebrate, and support one another.
-
Cultural Preservation – Showcasing Sudanese heritage through festivals, traditional arts, and community gatherings that highlight our culture and identity.
-
Education & Empowerment – Offering programs to help Sudanese American youth learn about their history, language, and traditions, while also providing opportunities for the entire community to grow as engaged citizens.
Beyond serving our community, SANC works to build bridges with the broader Bay Area by sharing our culture and engaging in outreach. Our initiatives span cultural festivals, professional development workshops, health awareness programs, tech talks, and wellness programs.
Together, we strive to preserve our heritage, strengthen our community, and contribute positively to the diverse fabric of the Bay Area.
