Work closely with the software and hardware teams to develop and execute product verification, high availability, and scalability tests for high-performance core network routers. Create directed tests based upon examination of system software, hardware designs, and functional specifications. Determine or develop related software, tools, and methodologies to assure conformance to the product requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to produce associated test automation for any given testing task.The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, ISIS, multicast, MPLS, RSVP, LDP, BFD and IPv6), their configuration, and deployment. The candidate should be well versed with single dimensional and multi-dimensional scaling aspects of features. The candidate should have good knowledge on High Availability, Multi Chassis Architecture and Non Stop Routing features. The candidate must have very strong understanding of the underlying Layer 2 and good understanding of Layer 1 protocols or other tunneling mechanisms (e.g., GRE, IPsec). In-depth knowledge of current routing architectures is a requirement. The candidate must also have experience characterizing router performance capability in network simulation scenarios; setting up test topologies to verify protocol implementations or otherwise assessing device operational limits. The candidate must possess outstanding problem solving skills in the diagnosis and resolution of customer issues. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills -- both verbal and written.
