WHO WE ARE

We serve the Sudanese community of the San Francisco Bay Area, a young community of about 400+ families and single adults. SANC’s social mission is to provide the Sudanese community with a forum to gather socially, providing support where needed. The cultural mission focuses on organizing events and festivals to display native culture and traditional arts. The educational mission’s focus is on educating the community’s American born children on the Sudanese culture, folklore, religion and language. It additionally provides the community with learning opportunities to help members become better engaged citizens. SANC also aims to foster understanding with the larger American public by participating in cultural events and outreach around the San Francisco Bay Area. Those programs range from cultural events to professional development workshops, along with assistive programs providing meals/groceries, legal counseling and health awareness.
